Is planning out your life the best option?

Creating goals and setting a high standard toward your life could potentially be the first step that it takes to become successful in the future right? In my opinion, it is wise to just think about what you want to do with the rest of your life and where exactly you are headed but... is it necessary to absolutely plan every little detail that follows?

When it comes to having an idea of what I want to accomplish for myself, the thoughts become "been there done that" for me. Usually I tend to over think things through. Maybe its time to just go with the flow right? Attending Full Sail University has opened up my thoughts completely on my future and the endless career paths that I could take. The world of Music Business is endless beyond what anyone can imagine, and I decided that I will refuse to settle on whatever is thrown at me. I want to be the one who decides where I go and what I do with my life.

So, here is my little plan, and I'm curious to know what others think. After I graduate, I believe the best route for me, would be to hop on the next flight to Amsterdam. I will save enough money to keep me alive there for about two weeks to a month, line up at least half dozen internships or job interviews and see what happens from there. If nobody wants to hire me, or I don't get a job right away then I will simply go home, but at least I could say I experienced something like that. I'm fully confident in my ability to impress and obtain the position of my dreams, but in the end its all about the chase. If I let people bring me down and tell me that I'm crazy for wanting this, then clearly I am not cut out for this industry. Overall my passion will show for itself in my work and I am ready to surprise the world.

  1. I agree you only live once before know it you'll be old and wonder why you work in a bank and didn't persue that dream, my dad never went to university it limited his career and he's regretted it ever since, I suggest you go for it, maybe also think about possibilities in USA as EDM seems to be taking off there - a real area of growth after all it's where DI radio is based - try to get an intern there as well. 3. I agree that planning ahead mentally is really helpful! Maybe having a whole life plan step by step is a little much, but when it comes to what you want its best to just go for it and take a risk. As long as you have a plan B I feel everything will work itself out.

So far liking your blog, keep it up!

  4. your dreams are always after the last no or seback, always move on until you reach it

Nature tests us if we truly want something or not, but you got to work on it everyday

  5. Go for it. Life can only be planned out so far, and take the risks while you're young. Plan out the trip to give yourself enough time and money to land a job if possible, and definitely try to network ahead of time. Most importantly, have fun! It's your trip, enjoy it.
