Tiesto 2.0

Hi all, and thanks for checking out my blog!
Its been a while since I've written and I genuinely miss it! Writing keeps me sane and lets me express my feelings perfectly without actually yelling at anyone (haha) Even if nobody is currently reading this, writing for myself is all I need.
Towards the end of December I will be posting my top 20 again this year and I can't wait to go through all of my 2011 music and narrow them down. Last year I got a huge response from all my twitter peeps, so I am really excited to do it again! This year however, I will do it a bit differently. Instead of doing a top 20 trance list and a top 20 house list, I am choosing to do a top 20 EDM list. This year I have completely branched out of what I would typically listen to, and fell in love with minimal, techno, tech house...and just all sub genres of EDM! I was pretty disappointed with trance this year, as most of it didn't really excite me as much, but there definitely have been some massive tracks this year, I know selecting just 20 will be really hard.
So.. this weekend I saw Tiesto live, and haven't seen him since 2010 so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I kept listening to all the people hating on him, and I hated on him too because of that. "He's not trance anymore" "After his Kaleidoscope album, he turned to pop/house" etc. etc. What I have come to realize is that times change and so do people! HE'S NOT TRANCE ANYMORE...WHO CARES?! He played an incredible 3 hour set and I had a great time with amazing people! He did drop a few classics (love comes again, silence, lethal industry...to name a few) Overall, I was really happy with the night. Going in knowing to expect all bangers, I left extremely satisfied.  I hope soon, people will get over the fact that artists change... there is nothing wrong with experimentation or wanting to do something else. In fact, I now look up to those who try new things. Just like people who only loving trance, or only love rock music.... don't be a slave to your genre. It's almost 2012 people... expand yourselves!
